I'm not sure, but I think Sophia did this after watching the Sword in the Stone, and the little boy was turned into a bird. Even though this in no way looks like a bird, it still intrigues me! WHAT was she thinking?

appreciating homeschool
Today I found out it was Teacher Appreciation Day this week. Nana helped Isaac and Sophia pretend they appreciate me! Kidding. I know they do, she just helped them express it! Thanks, Nana!! She had Isaac and Sophia read some very touching poems and I couldn't help crying at their words, and even more watching my young students read them so well! We've come a long way in our few years of homeschooling and I wouldn't trade these moments for all the 8-hour-long-quiet days I'd have if they were public schoolers (though I've been tempted a time or two... or two hundred if anyone is really counting).
I just hope THEY appreciate what they've got. I mean, where else can you do your reading in your pajamas to your doll, or get your bunny to help with your writing outside on a nice day?

missing Bunny
I still instinctively look out the kitchen window to see if Charcoal has food and water. But the door is hanging open and she has flown the coop and moved on to a more stable relationship.
4 years of an on again, off again love affair is too much for one bunny to have to bear, never knowing how long you'll be neglected before your next meal or bit of cuddle.
Be happy, Bun-ee Girrl!

tearful goodbye

We said goodbye to Charcoal today. Sophia was the saddest to see Bunny go. She's in a petting zoo worker's home tonight, hopefully getting more attention (and food and water!) than she got here.
I was snapping pictures as Sophia said goodbye, and I thought this one said it all.

planning for a date

I went in to check on Sophia last night and she is apparently looking forward to going to Nana and Papaw's today! She had her date outfit all planned out, right down to the necklace and good smelling lotion! One thing she neglected though...she didn't check the weather report! She's dressing for summer, not 40 degrees!
