a white Christmas

This past week has been a BLUR, but I'll try to recap!
The "blur" was taken by me, while trying to duck! We didn't have a white Christmas outside, but Stephen and Sheila gave us a white Christmas inside! They made marshmallow blowers and attacked us at full force! There were miniature marshmallows everywhere! Stephen was relentless with his attacks (as seen below!) while Kimberly was trying to lay low after getting hit in the face. The kids did the best they could to attack back and I resorted to just throwing them!

Eileen had us over for a make-up party (as in re-do, not Mary Kay!). We were in Florida when she had Aunt E.'s 90th birthday party, and we had some Christmasing to do, and Stephen, Hannah, and Elissa were in town, so we converged in the living room where we have so many memories as kids. I remember being Sophia's age, opening gifts there and having a ball, and now my kids were running around enjoying the great gifts and treats from Eileen, Aunt E, and Eddie.

Here's Aunt E and Eileen opening a gift from me.

While they were on vacation, I had Dad swipe their old family picture off the wall and I updated it in Photoshop and sent them to Sequoia National Park! This screenshot shows the before and after.

Big ol' Stephen and lil' Aunt E.

And these adorable flipflops for Sophia made OUR mouths drop! They're sooo cute, but too small, so we didn't get to bring them home. Sophia and Hannah are modeling them, barely. I kept trying to make them fit Sophia, not unlike Drisella and Anastasia in Cinderella. I kept hoping someone would pull the perfect size slipper (er, flipflop) out of a pocket, but we're just going to have to wait until some bigger ones are made. The neighbor girls are going to be sooo envious!

gingerbread houses, sibling rivalry style

We adore these gingerbread house kits from Trader Joes. We like to think the darling people are me, Isaac, and Sophia (Daddy is at work!) instead of Hansel and Gretel. If you look closely though, there is an empty hole in front of each house. Isn't it supposed to be the mean old woman that tries to eat Hansel and Gretel? Instead, after 2 short days, MY children turned on each other. Isaac declared, "Sophia, I'm eating you!" and he gobbled "her" up. Of course, she retaliated and ate him.

waiting for a miracle

Sophia and Elizabeth can hardly wait... Sophia got enough money for Christmas from Mamaw and Papaw and Aunt Pam to add to what she had been saving for another American Girl doll. We ordered Elizabeth's best friend, Felicity, then Sophia curled Elizabeth's hair and decided to camp out by the front door in hopes the UPS man would bring her the same day. That would be some service to get it the same day it's ordered, wouldn't it?

cuddles

The kids had a little puppy time across the street! If they
could only stay this cute and little! (the puppies, not the kids!)

This puppy fell asleep in Isaac's arms!
