scenes from Mount Vernon estate

What an eerie privilege to be able to walk through the same rooms, climb the same steps, sit on the same porch, and view the same view as George Washington. We saw THE chair he sat in as President. We saw THE gorgeous fireplace that warmed his dining room. We saw THE paintings he commissioned that decorated his home. We saw THE room he died in. We saw THE room in which his body was lain for 4 days and the tomb he and his wife are in.

Fascinating.
